Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Kuusamo. From Kuusamo, take the road Myllykoskentie (Road 848) and follow it for approximately 24 kilometers. The Myllykoski Rapids will be on your left. There is a parking area available near the rapids, but be sure to check for any parking fees that may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Myllykoski Rapids via public transportation, take a bus from Ruka or Kuusamo to the nearest stop on Myllykoskentie. Buses run regularly, but be sure to check the schedule in advance. Once you disembark, it is about a 2-kilometer walk to the rapids. Follow the Myllykoskentie road, and you will see signage directing you to the rapids.
Walking
If you are already on the Karhunkierros Trail, the Myllykoski Rapids are accessible via a short detour. From the main trail, follow the signs towards Myllykoski. The detour is approximately 1 kilometer and will take you through beautiful forest scenery. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
