The name Koiteli is believed to have Sámi origins, meaning 'the one in the middle'. The area's scenic beauty is defined by riverbeds, rapids, small islands, and lush shores. It's estimated that around 80,000 people visit Koitelinkoski annually to experience its natural charm.     From Oulu, head northeast on Route 20 (Oulu-Kuusamo highway) towards Kiiminki. At the traffic lights in Kiiminki center, turn towards Ylikiiminki and Koitelinkoski. Follow the signs 'Koitelinkosket 4 km'. The main parking area is on the left side of the road. Parking is free and readily available.

    Take bus line 35 from Oulu to Kiiminki. Check the Oulu Public Transport (Ouka) website for the current timetable. From Kiiminki, take a local taxi to Koitelinkoskentie 418.
