The Syöte National Park is located north of Highway 20 (Oulu-Kuusamo), approximately 60 km north of Pudasjärvi. From Pudasjärvi, follow the signs towards Syöte. In winter, be aware that some roads may not be plowed regularly. Parking is available at the Syöte Visitor Centre (Erätie 1, 93280 Syöte) and other trailheads, though these can get congested during peak seasons.

The nearest train station and airport are located in Oulu. From Oulu, take a bus towards Kuusamo, which stops at Pudasjärvi. From Pudasjärvi, during school days, coaches run twice a day to Syötekylä. Check the timetables at Matkahuolto. During the ski season, a ski bus operates from Oulu to Syöte on weekends; check the schedule and fares on Syöte's website. A single bus fare from Pudasjärvi to Syöte is approximately €5-€10.
