Piggy Town, known locally as Kärsänniemi, is a vibrant and imaginative land nestled within Särkänniemi Amusement Park, offering a delightful experience tailored for the park's youngest visitors. This charming area is the creation of Pouta Pig, Särkänniemi's beloved mascot, providing a dedicated space for fun and adventure.
Designed with meticulous detail, Piggy Town features a miniature world complete with a post office, railway station, airport, vegetable market, and harbor, all scaled down to create an immersive environment for children. The area boasts eight amusement rides perfect for small children, alongside a large playground equipped with climbing frames. Kids can hop aboard the Piggy Train, reserved for those under 140cm, or experience the gentle thrills of the Candy Boat and Bat Delivery rides.
Formerly the site of Angry Birds Land, Piggy Town was re-themed in 2023 as part of a broader initiative to transform Särkänniemi into a fully realized theme park. This transformation introduces a cast of characters alongside Pouta Pig, including Kajo Rabbit, Myrsky Mole, Leimu Bat, and Lauha Lamb, each adding to the town's unique charm. Piggy Town isn't just about rides; it's a place where children's imaginations can run wild, creating lasting memories in a safe and enchanting setting.

Walking
From Tampere city center, walk north along Hämeenkatu Street, cross the bridge over Tammerkoski rapids, and continue onto Paasikivenkatu. Turn left onto Laiturikatu. Piggy Town is located inside Särkänniemi, approximately a 30-minute walk.
Public Transport
From Tampere Railway Station, take bus number 2 or 14 directly to Särkänniemi. Alternatively, take tram line 3 to the Särkänniemi tram stop; from there, it's a short walk to the park entrance. A single Nysse ticket for zones AB costs approximately €3.00 and is valid for 90 minutes.
Taxi
A taxi from Tampere city center to Särkänniemi takes about 5 minutes and typically costs between €10-€13.
Parking
If driving, parking is available at Särkänniemi for a fixed fee of €18 for all Moovy app users. Electric car charging points are also available for €0.25/kWh. Consider parking in the city center at P-Näsinkulma for €18/day + 15% Moovy service fee if Särkänniemi parking is full.
