Discover more about Tornado

Tornado is a steel inverted roller coaster located in Särkänniemi Amusement Park in Tampere, Finland. Since its opening on April 30, 2001, it has remained a favorite among thrill-seekers. Designed by Intamin, it stands as one of only two suspended roller coasters of its kind and is the sole survivor featuring flat heartline rolls. The ride begins with a descent into a cave-like station, setting the stage for an adrenaline-pumping experience. The trains, comprised of six cars each, can accommodate 24 riders, arranged in two rows of two. Once in motion, Tornado reaches a top speed of 75 kilometers per hour, delivering approximately 40 seconds of pure excitement, excluding the initial ascent. The layout includes a chain lift hill, vertical loop, cobra roll, helix, and two heartline rolls, one of which passes dramatically over the station. The station and one heartline roll are built within a man-made cave carved from natural rock. While the ride is known for its intensity, it is also wheelchair accessible, ensuring that visitors with mobility impairments can still enjoy the experience with the assistance of a carer. Keep in mind that safety barriers may restrict access for larger individuals.
