If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Ruka. Head towards the Ruka Ski Resort and take the Ruka-Kuusamo road (Route 5) heading northeast. Continue on Route 5 for about 14 kilometers until you reach the town of Kuusamo. Once in Kuusamo, look for the signs indicating Virkkulantie. Turn onto Virkkulantie, and after about 1 kilometer, you will find Konttainen Parking Lot on your left. Make sure to have a GPS or a map handy to guide you as you approach.
