Car
If you are traveling by car, take I-95 South from Jacksonville, FL. Continue on I-95 for approximately 30 miles. Take exit 1 for FL-40 East toward St. Marys. Merge onto GA-40 E and continue for about 10 miles until you reach St. Marys, GA. Once in St. Marys, follow signs for the Dungeness Ruins located within the Cumberland Island National Seashore. Note that there is a fee of $10 per person to access Cumberland Island, which includes boat transportation to the island.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited directly to Dungeness Ruins. You can take a Greyhound bus from Jacksonville to St. Marys. Once in St. Marys, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the ferry terminal for Cumberland Island. The ferry ride to Cumberland Island is $30 round trip per person. Remember to book your ferry tickets in advance during peak tourist seasons as they can fill up quickly.
