Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards the Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park located at 9400 New Berlin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32226. From downtown Jacksonville, take I-95 N towards Yulee. Take exit 365 for FL-9A N. Merge onto FL-9A N and follow the signs for Heckscher Dr. Continue on Heckscher Dr for approximately 15 miles. Turn left onto New Berlin Rd, and you will find the park entrance on your right. The park has free admission, but be aware of any parking fees if applicable.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park using public transportation, start by taking the Jacksonville Transit Authority (JTA) bus route 1 or 5 from central Jacksonville. Check the JTA website for the most current schedules and stops. You will need to disembark at the closest stop to New Berlin Rd, then use rideshare services like Uber or Lyft to cover the remaining distance to the park, which is about a 10-minute ride. Be prepared to spend around $15-20 for the rideshare service, depending on traffic and time of day.

  For those who prefer biking, you can cycle to Yellow Bluff Fort using the scenic route along Heckscher Drive. Starting from downtown Jacksonville, bike along the riverfront and make your way to Heckscher Drive. It's approximately a 15-mile ride to the park. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules, as some sections may not have dedicated bike lanes. The park is free to enter, and there are bike racks available for parking.
