Getting There

Public Bus
From Homestead, head to the nearest bus stop on US-1. You can catch the Miami-Dade Transit Bus Route 38, which travels towards Florida City. Once you reach Florida City, transfer to the Route 102 bus heading to Key Largo. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the Florida Keys Visitor Center. The center is located at 106240 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL 33037, which is approximately a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle
If you are comfortable riding a bike, you can rent one from a local shop in Homestead. Start at the intersection of Krome Avenue and US-1 and head south on US-1, following the designated bike lanes. Continue on US-1 for about 24 miles until you reach Key Largo. The Florida Keys Visitor Center will be on your right at 106240 Overseas Hwy. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay safe while riding!

Walking
Walking directly from Homestead to Key Largo is not practical due to the distance (approximately 24 miles). However, if you prefer to walk, you can take a bus to Florida City first (as mentioned above) and then walk to the visitor center from there. From the Florida City bus stop, head east on Palm Drive, then turn onto the Overseas Highway (US-1) and walk south for about 1.5 miles to reach the center.
