From downtown Jacksonville, walk to the nearest JTA bus stop. Take the JTA Bus Route 10 (Northside) towards the Jacksonville International Airport. Ride the bus until you reach the intersection of Florida A1A and Heckscher Drive. The ride should take around 40-50 minutes. Once you arrive at the intersection, disembark from the bus. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes along Florida A1A to reach the entrance of Big Talbot Island State Park. The park entrance will be on your right, marked clearly with signs.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike shops in Jacksonville. Start from downtown Jacksonville and head towards the north on the scenic riverfront bike paths. You will connect to Heckscher Drive, which leads directly to Florida A1A. Follow Heckscher Drive until you reach Florida A1A, then turn left and continue cycling north until you reach the entrance of Big Talbot Island State Park. The total distance is about 15 miles and will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on your cycling speed.
