Public Bus
To reach Big Cypress Boardwalk Trail in Goethe State Forest from central Ocala, start by taking the SunTran bus from the Ocala Transit Center. Board the Route 1 bus heading towards East Ocala. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at the intersection of SE 36th Avenue and E Silver Springs Blvd. Transfer to Route 2 towards Fort King. Stay on this bus for an additional 20 minutes until you reach the stop at the intersection of NE 40th Avenue and NE 14th Street. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile northwest along NE 14th Street until you arrive at the Goethe State Forest entrance. Once inside, follow the signs to the Big Cypress Boardwalk Trail.

Bicycle
If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in Ocala. Start at the Ocala Downtown Market area and head south on SE 1st Avenue. Follow SE 1st Avenue until it turns into SE 36th Avenue. Continue on SE 36th Avenue until you reach the intersection with E Silver Springs Blvd. Turn right onto E Silver Springs Blvd and continue for approximately 5 miles. You will then turn left onto NE 14th Street and follow the road until you reach the Goethe State Forest entrance. Once inside, follow the signs to the Big Cypress Boardwalk Trail.

If you are feeling adventurous and would like to walk, you can start from the Ocala Downtown area. Head east on E Silver Springs Blvd towards SE 36th Avenue. Walk along E Silver Springs Blvd for about 5 miles. When you reach the intersection with NE 14th Street, turn left and continue walking for another mile until you arrive at the entrance of Goethe State Forest. Upon entering the park, follow the signs directing you to the Big Cypress Boardwalk Trail.
