Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Sanibel Island. Take Periwinkle Way heading east until you reach the junction with Tarpon Bay Road. Turn left onto Tarpon Bay Road and continue south until you reach the intersection with Pine Island Road. Turn left onto Pine Island Road (FL-78) and follow it until you reach the bridge to Pine Island. After crossing the bridge, continue straight until you reach the town of St. James City. Look for signs for Picnic Island Park, which is located on your right at 26.489585, -82.049397. Parking is available at the park entrance.
