Getting There

  • Walking

    From Downtown Sarasota, head east on Main Street towards the Sarasota Bay front. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Gulfstream Avenue. Turn right onto Gulfstream Avenue and continue walking in the direction of the bay. After about 0.5 miles, you will come to the John Ringling Causeway Bridge. Cross the bridge, enjoying the scenic views of the bay. Once you reach the other side, you will be on St. Armands Key. Continue straight until you reach Ken Thompson Parkway. Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is located at 1600 Ken Thompson Pkwy, just a short walk from the bridge.

    You can take the Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) bus. Board the SCAT Route 99 bus at the nearest bus stop in Downtown Sarasota (check the SCAT schedules for the nearest stop). The bus will take you towards the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. You will need to get off at the stop closest to Ken Thompson Parkway. The fare is approximately $1.25 for a single trip. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the aquarium.
