Getting There

Walking
From Downtown Sarasota, head east on Main Street towards the Sarasota Bay front. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Gulfstream Avenue. Turn right onto Gulfstream Avenue and continue walking in the direction of the bay. After about 0.5 miles, you will come to the John Ringling Causeway Bridge. Cross the bridge, enjoying the scenic views of the bay. Once you reach the other side, you will be on St. Armands Key. Continue straight until you reach Ken Thompson Parkway. Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is located at 1600 Ken Thompson Pkwy, just a short walk from the bridge.

Public transportation (Bus)
You can take the Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) bus. Board the SCAT Route 99 bus at the nearest bus stop in Downtown Sarasota (check the SCAT schedules for the nearest stop). The bus will take you towards the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. You will need to get off at the stop closest to Ken Thompson Parkway. The fare is approximately $1.25 for a single trip. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the aquarium.

Bicycle rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike rental stations in Downtown Sarasota. Head east towards the Sarasota Bay front and follow the same route as if you were walking. The bike ride will take you approximately 15-20 minutes. Make sure to follow the bike lanes and obey traffic rules. Once you reach Ken Thompson Parkway, park your bike at the designated bike racks near Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium.
