Getting There

• Walking

  If you're in downtown Sarasota, start at the intersection of Main Street and Palm Avenue. Head west on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Gulfstream Avenue. Turn left onto Gulfstream Avenue and continue walking until you reach the waterfront. From here, you can enjoy a scenic walk along the bay. Keep walking north along the bayfront until you see the Unconditional Surrender statue located in Island Park, just before you reach the Sarasota Bay.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in downtown Sarasota. Start from the intersection of Main Street and Palm Avenue, heading west on Main Street. Turn left onto Gulfstream Avenue and proceed to the waterfront. Continue north along the bayfront bike path. You will see the Unconditional Surrender statue in Island Park, just before you reach the Sarasota Bay.

• Public Transit

  For public transit, locate the nearest Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) bus stop. Take bus route 99, which runs frequently in downtown Sarasota. Get off at the stop near Marina Jack, which is close to the waterfront. From there, walk north along the waterfront path. As you approach Island Park, you will see the Unconditional Surrender statue on your left.
