Getting There

    Start at the Avignon Central Train Station (Gare d'Avignon Centre). Exit the station and head east on Rue de la République towards Place de l'Horloge. Continue straight until you reach the Place de l'Horloge, a central square with cafes and shops. From here, walk northeast on Rue de la République until you reach the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes). After visiting, continue on Rue de la République until you reach the Rhône River. Once at the river, walk north along the riverbank. You will see the iconic Saint-Bénézet Bridge (Pont Saint-Bénézet) on your left. Continue walking along the river until you reach the Roman Bridge, which is located in Vaison-la-Romaine, approximately 40 km away. Note that this last part requires public transport, so you will need to take a bus or train from Avignon to Vaison-la-Romaine.

    From the Avignon Central Train Station, purchase a ticket to Vaison-la-Romaine. You can take a direct train from Avignon to Vaison-la-Romaine, which takes about 30 minutes.
