Collégiale Notre-Dame de Dole: A Gothic-Renaissance Masterpiece

The Collégiale Notre-Dame de Dole, now a minor basilica, is the main church of Dole, a town in the Franche-Comté region of France. Its story begins in the late 13th century, though construction of the current structure took place between 1509 and 1574, with the bell tower completed in 1596. The church was built on the site of a previous collegiate church dedicated to Notre-Dame. The basilica's hybrid Gothic-Renaissance style reflects the architectural trends of the 16th century.Standing at 73 meters, the bell tower is the tallest in Franche-Comté and offers stunning views of Dole and the Jura landscape.
