Getting There

  • Metro

    Start at any metro station in Lyon and take Line D (the dark blue line) towards Gare de Vaise. Get off at the 'Vieux Lyon' station. From there, exit the station and head towards the Saône River. Walk along the riverbank until you reach the Pont Bonaparte bridge. Cross the bridge, and you will be on the other side of the river with a beautiful view of the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. Once you cross the bridge, follow the signs to the 'Funiculaire de Fourvière'.

    Once you reach the Funiculaire de Fourvière station, take the funicular (Line F) directly up to the Basilica and the museum area. The ride is quick and offers stunning views of Lyon.
