Public Transport
If you are starting from the Marseille Saint-Charles train station, exit the station and head towards the Metro Line 1 (the blue line). Take the metro towards La Fourragère and get off at the Vieux-Port station. From Vieux-Port, you can either walk to the Basilica or take the bus. If you choose to walk, head towards the waterfront and follow the Quai des Belges until you reach the Place aux Huiles. From there, follow the Rue de la République up to the Rue Fort du Sanctuaire. The Basilica is located at the end of this street, perched on a hill with a stunning view of the city.

If you are already in the Vieux-Port area, you can walk to the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. Start at the Vieux-Port, facing the water. Walk east along the Quai des Belges, then turn left onto Rue de la République. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rue Fort du Sanctuaire. Turn right onto Rue Fort du Sanctuaire and follow it uphill. The Basilica will be at the top, offering panoramic views of Marseille.

From the Vieux-Port area, you can also take bus line 60 towards Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. Look for the bus stop near the Palais des Congrès. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride up to the Basilica.
