Getting There

• Bus

  To reach Musée Matisse by public transport, start by heading to the nearest bus stop. If you are in the city center, you can catch bus line 15 or 17 from the 'Gare Routière' bus station, which is also close to the Promenade des Anglais and main shopping areas. Board the bus heading towards 'Cimiez' and enjoy the ride. After about 15-20 minutes, get off at the 'Arenes de Cimiez' bus stop, which is a short walk from the museum. From the bus stop, walk down Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez for approximately 5 minutes, and you will see the museum located on your right at 164 Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez.

• Tram and Bus

  If you prefer using the tram, take Tram line 1 towards 'Hôpital Pasteur'. Disembark at the 'Jean Médecin' stop. From there, transfer to bus line 15 or 17 at the nearby bus stop. Board the bus heading to 'Cimiez' and ride for about 10 minutes. Get off at 'Arenes de Cimiez' bus stop. From there, it's a 5-minute walk to Musée Matisse at 164 Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez.

• Walking (from city center)

  For those who enjoy walking, you can make your way to Musée Matisse on foot from the city center. Start at the Place Massena and head northeast towards Avenue Jean Médecin. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Boulevard de Cimiez. Turn left and follow Boulevard de Cimiez until you see the signs for Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez. The walk will take about 30-40 minutes, and you'll be treated to beautiful views of Nice along the way.
