The Majestic Basilica of Sacré-Cœur: A Parisian Icon

Getting There

• Metro

  Take Line 2 from your nearest Metro station towards 'Nation'. Get off at 'Anvers' station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs towards Rue de Steinkerque. Walk up Rue de Steinkerque, which is a vibrant street lined with shops and cafés. Continue straight until you reach the base of the hill leading to the Basilica. From there, it's a short uphill walk to the entrance of the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur.

• Bus

  Look for Bus Number 30 or 31. Board the bus heading towards 'Bercy'. Get off at the 'Montmartre - Place du Tertre' stop. From there, follow the signs leading you to Rue du Chevalier de la Barre. You will need to walk up the hill slightly, passing through the charming streets of Montmartre until you reach the Basilica.

• Walking

  If you are in the Montmartre area, simply walk towards the Basilica. Look for the iconic white dome of the Sacré-Cœur as it is visible from many points in Montmartre. Head towards Rue du Chevalier de la Barre, which will lead you directly to the entrance of the Basilica. Enjoy the quaint streets and artistic atmosphere as you make your way there.

• Funicular

  If you are near the base of the hill, you can take the Montmartre Funicular from the 'Gare du Funiculaire' station. This will take you up the hill directly to the Basilica. Once you exit the funicular, follow the signs to the main entrance of the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur.
