The Majestic Obélisque de Louxor: A Historical Marvel in Paris

Getting There

• Metro

  Take Line 1 (the yellow line) from any metro station towards La Défense. If you are starting from Gare de Lyon, take Line 1 directly to Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre station. Once you arrive, transfer to Line 7 (the pink line) towards La Courneuve - 8 Mai 1945. Get off at the next stop, which is Opéra. From Opéra, walk towards the Place de l'Opéra and head southwest towards Place de la Concorde, following the signs. The Obélisque de Louxor is located at 73 Pl. de la Concorde, just a short walk from the metro station.

• Bus

  Take Bus 73 from the nearest bus stop to your location in Paris. For example, if you are near Gare Saint-Lazare, catch Bus 73 towards Le Puy. Get off at the stop 'Place de la Concorde'. From there, the Obélisque de Louxor is a short walk away, located at 73 Pl. de la Concorde. As you exit the bus, look for the tall Egyptian obelisk in the center of the square.

• Walking

  If you are in the vicinity of the Louvre Museum, you can walk to the Obélisque de Louxor. Exit the museum and head towards Rue de Rivoli, then turn left onto Rue de Rivoli. Continue straight until you reach the Place de la Concorde. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes. As you approach the square, you will see the Obélisque de Louxor prominently displayed.
