Getting There

• Walking

  If you are already in the Montmartre area, the easiest way to reach Basilique du Sacré-Cœur is by walking. Head towards Rue des Saules, and enjoy the charming streets lined with cafes and shops. Continue on Rue des Saules until you reach the intersection with Rue de l'Abreuvoir. From there, turn left onto Rue de l'Abreuvoir and follow it to the top of the hill where you will see the Basilica. The walk will take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your starting point.

• Funicular

  If you prefer a less strenuous option, you can take the Montmartre Funicular. Locate the base station at the bottom of the hill, near the entrance to the Basilica. The funicular ride costs around €1.90 for a single journey. It takes you directly to the top of the hill in just a couple of minutes. Once you exit the funicular, you will find yourself right by the entrance to Basilique du Sacré-Cœur.

• Public Transport

  For those coming from other parts of Paris, you can take the Metro Line 2 to Anvers station. From the station, you will need to walk approximately 10 minutes to reach the Basilica. Exit the station and head towards Boulevard de Rochechouart, then follow the signs that direct you to Basilique du Sacré-Cœur. As you walk, you will ascend the hill, which offers various scenic views of the city.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer a more comfortable ride, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing app like Uber. Simply enter 'Basilique du Sacré-Cœur' as your destination. The fare will depend on your starting location, but expect it to be around €10-15 from central Paris. Please note that taxis may drop you off at the foot of the hill, and you might still need to walk a short distance to the entrance.
