Getting There

    From Bayonne, take the A63 highway towards Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. After approximately 40 kilometers, take exit 6 towards Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. Continue on D933 for about 15 kilometers. Once you arrive in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, follow signs to the Citadel of Mendiguren located on Esplanade. There is limited street parking available in the area.

  • Public Transport - Train

    Take a train from Bayonne to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. The journey takes about 1 hour and trains run regularly. Once you arrive at the Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port train station, exit and walk towards the town center, following signs to the Citadel of Mendiguren. It’s approximately a 15-minute walk (1.2 km) from the station. You will walk along Rue de la Citadelle, which leads directly to Esplanade where the Citadel is located.
