Walking
Amboise's historic center is easily explored on foot. From Place Michel Debré in the heart of town, most attractions are within a 10-15 minute walk. The Château d'Amboise is a short uphill walk from the main square. The Château du Clos Lucé is approximately half a mile (800 meters) from the Château d'Amboise, following Rue Victor Hugo.
Public Transport
The city of Amboise operates a municipal bus line, Le Bus. Line 1 connects the Gare d'Amboise with Place Max Ernst, near the Château d'Amboise. The bus runs several times daily. A single ticket costs €0.80.
Taxi
Taxis are available in Amboise. A taxi ride from the train station (Gare d'Amboise) to the city center takes approximately 3 minutes and costs between €5 and €7. Taxi stands can be found near the train station and in the town center. You can also book a taxi using a ride-hailing app.
