From the village of Entrevaux, the only way to reach the Citadelle is on foot. Follow the paved path that zigzags up the hillside for approximately 800 meters. The path passes under 20 arches and around 9 switchbacks. The walk takes around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on fitness levels. Entrance to the citadel costs €5 for adults and €2 for children, payable at the turnstile.

The Chemins de Fer de Provence train line connects Nice to Entrevaux. From the Entrevaux train station, it's a short walk into the village. Once in the village, follow the walking guidance to ascend to the Citadelle. A single train ticket from Nice to Entrevaux costs around €36.30.
