Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Saint-Malo train station (Gare de Saint-Malo), exit the station and head straight down Avenue Jean Janvier. Continue walking until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rue de la Libération. Follow this road until you reach the entrance of the walled city. Once inside the city walls, walk straight along Rue de la Paille until you arrive at the Place Chateaubriand, where the Saint-Malo Castle is located at 9 Pl. Chateaubriand.

    If you are in the city center, start from the Grand Bé, a small island accessible during low tide. From there, walk back to the main land and head towards the walls of Saint-Malo. Follow the wall path towards the east until you reach the Porte Saint-Louis. Enter through the gate and walk straight along Rue des Cordiers, then take a left onto Rue de la Paille, leading you directly to Place Chateaubriand where the castle is situated.
