Discover more about Castle of Saint Martin

Château de Saint-Martin is a captivating wine estate steeped in over 2000 years of history. Located in the heart of Provence, in Taradeau, the estate boasts a remarkable heritage that began in the 1st century BC when the Romans established one of the first wine-growing domains in France. The estate spans 100 hectares, with 50 dedicated to vineyards. From the 10th to the 18th centuries, the Lérins monks transformed the estate into a wine-growing priory, constructing an impressive underground cellar in the 12th and 16th centuries that is still in use today. Since 1740, the Château has been passed down through the same French noble family, primarily from woman to woman. Visitors can explore the estate's two cellars: a modern vinification cellar with stainless steel vats and a traditional aging cellar built by monks, featuring vats carved into the rock. The estate also features an interactive museum dedicated to spirits, offering a sensory experience to discover the secrets of distillation and liqueur making. Wine tastings, guided tours, and accommodations in authentic guest rooms are available. The grounds are beautifully maintained, offering scenic views of the Provençal countryside. The Château produces a range of white, red, and rosé wines under the Cru Classé Côtes de Provence appellation. It has earned High Environmental Value Certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainable practices.
