Pā'ōfa'i Gardens, a serene 11.37-acre park in the heart of Papeete, offers a peaceful escape with lush greenery, walking paths, and cultural monuments. Open daily from 7 am to 7 pm, it's a perfect spot for relaxation, family activities, and soaking in the Polynesian atmosphere.

Walking
From the Papeete Market (Marché de Papeete), head towards the waterfront along Boulevard Pomare. Walk southwest, continuing along the boulevard until you reach the intersection with Rue Gaston Flosse. Turn left onto Rue Gaston Flosse, and after about 10 minutes, you will see the entrance to Pā'ōfa'i Gardens on your right. The walk should take approximately 20-25 minutes from the market. There is no admission fee to enter the gardens.
Public Transport
From the central bus station in Papeete, take the number 1 bus that goes towards Fa'a'ā. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Pā'ōfa'i Gardens. The bus ride will take about 10-15 minutes. After you get off, walk a short distance back towards the waterfront, and you will find the entrance to the gardens. The bus fare is typically around 200-300 XPF.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Papeete. From anywhere in the city center, a short taxi ride to Pā'ōfa'i Gardens will cost approximately 1,500 XPF as a base fee, plus 130 XPF per kilometer. Ensure the driver resets the meter before starting the ride. Taxi stands can be found at Centre Vaima and Pomare Boulevard.
