    Public Transport

    From Papeete, take the local bus towards Taiarapu-Est. Buses to Vairao depart hourly and cost $8. Ask the driver to drop you off near Vaihi Waterfalls in Faaone. From the main road, it's a short 5-minute walk to the falls. Check the bus schedule in advance as timetables can vary.

    Taxi/Ride-share

    From Papeete, a taxi or ride-share to Vaihi Waterfalls takes about 40 minutes, depending on traffic. Confirm the fare and the driver's familiarity with the location before starting your trip. Expect to pay approximately 8,000 to 12,000 XPF (approximately $70 - $110 USD) for a one-way trip.

    Walking

    If you are in Faaone, you can hike to Vaihi Waterfalls. Head towards the coastline and follow the path along the water until you reach the trailhead for the waterfalls. The falls themselves are not huge, but they cascade down into the pool from about 20 meters height. The vibrant landscape and crystal-clear waters offer ample opportunities for photography and relaxation. Adventure seekers can explore hiking trails and discover the region's biodiversity. The falls hold cultural significance, with local guides sharing stories and legends. The main waterfall is 10 meters high and drops into a large pool. A short hiking trail leads to two more pools before continuing into the valley, climbing to a plateau with superb views over the lagoon. Vaihi Waterfalls are also considered sacred among Tahitians. Every first Saturday of the month, there's a spiritual washing ceremony.
