Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Batumi, the capital of Adjara. Take the E70 highway heading east towards Kobuleti. Continue on E70 for approximately 20 km. After reaching the town of Kobuleti, take the exit towards the road leading to the village of Merisi. Follow the signs towards Merisi, which is about 8 km from Kobuleti. As you enter the village, look for the signs directing you to Merisi Waterfall. The waterfall is located on an unnamed road in Namonastrevi. You can use GPS coordinates 41.5698655, 42.0273339 to guide you directly to the waterfall. Parking is available at the nearby area.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a minibus (marshrutka) from Batumi to Kobuleti. This journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around 1-2 GEL. Once you arrive in Kobuleti, you will need to transfer to another marshrutka heading towards Merisi. These minibuses are usually located near the central bus station in Kobuleti. The fare to Merisi is approximately 2-3 GEL and the ride takes about 15-20 minutes. After reaching Merisi, the waterfall is accessible by a short walk from the bus stop. Look for signposts that indicate the trail to the waterfall. It’s a scenic walk, so enjoy the surroundings!

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from the village of Merisi to the waterfall, the trailhead is easy to find. Follow the signs posted along the path, which should take you through some beautiful natural scenery. The walk is about 1 km and typically takes around 15-20 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the trail can be uneven in places.
