Getting There

• Car

  From Arabia Mountain, head southwest on the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda Road (E117) towards Stepantsminda. The drive is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, covering around 150 kilometers. Follow the signs to Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) and continue through the village. Once in Stepantsminda, take the road towards Gergeti village. You can park near the Gergeti Trinity Church, which offers stunning views of Kazbegi. Keep in mind that the road may be winding and steep, especially as you approach the mountains.

• Public Transportation (Minibus)

  To reach Kazbegi Mountains from Arabia Mountain using public transportation, first, you need to get to the main bus station in Tbilisi. This can be done by taking a taxi or using local buses from your location in Arabia Mountain. Once at the Tbilisi bus station, look for the minibuses heading to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). The journey takes about 3 hours and the fare is typically around 10 GEL. Upon arrival in Stepantsminda, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the Gergeti Trinity Church area to start your exploration.

• Taxi

  For a more comfortable and direct option, consider hiring a taxi from Arabia Mountain to Kazbegi. You can arrange a taxi service in advance or ask local hotels for recommendations. The drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, and the cost may range from 200 to 300 GEL, depending on your negotiation skills and the taxi service. This option allows for flexibility in stops along the way for photos or refreshments.

• Hiking

  If you're adventurous and already in Stepantsminda, you can hike to the Kazbegi Mountains. From the Gergeti Trinity Church, follow the marked trails leading into the mountains. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks. The hike can take several hours depending on your chosen route and pace.
