Car
From Mestia, head south on the main road towards the village of Lasdili. After Lasdili, turn onto the unpaved road leading to Zagari Pass. Be prepared for rough terrain; a vehicle with good clearance, preferably a 4WD, is recommended. The drive from Mestia to the pass takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on road conditions. Note that the road may be impassable during winter.
Public Transport
Take a minibus (marshrutka) from Mestia to Lasdili; the cost is approximately 5 GEL, and the ride takes about 30 minutes. From Lasdili, hire a local taxi or share a ride with other hikers to Zagari Pass, as there is no direct public transport beyond Lasdili. Expect to pay around 30-50 GEL for the taxi to the pass; negotiate the fare beforehand. Note that public transport may be infrequent, so plan accordingly.
Hiking
Hike from Lasdili to Zagari Pass, approximately 8 km, taking around 2-3 hours. Follow the dirt road from Lasdili toward the pass, enjoying views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Wear good hiking shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks. This option is best for those who enjoy nature and are prepared for physical activity.
