From Mestia, head south on the main road towards the village of Lasdili. After Lasdili, turn onto the unpaved road leading to Zagari Pass. Be prepared for rough terrain; a vehicle with good clearance, preferably a 4WD, is recommended. The drive from Mestia to the pass takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on road conditions. Note that the road may be impassable during winter.

Take a minibus (marshrutka) from Mestia to Lasdili; the cost is approximately 5 GEL, and the ride takes about 30 minutes. From Lasdili, hire a local taxi or share a ride with other hikers to Zagari Pass, as there is no direct public transport beyond Lasdili.
