Nestled in the Kakheti region of Georgia, the Natlismtsemeli Monastery, also known as St. John Monastery, is a historical monument within the David Gareja monastic complex. Founded in the 6th century by Father Lucian, a disciple of St. David, this cave monastery features numerous cave temples and a central church, bearing witness to centuries of Georgian Christian heritage.

Public Transport
From Telavi, take a marshrutka (minibus) towards Gurjaani. At the Gurjaani bus station, transfer to another marshrutka heading to Lemshveniera. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to Natlismtsemeli Monastery; from there, follow local signs for a short walk to the monastery. The total cost is approximately 5-10 GEL.
Car
From Telavi, drive south on the E117 road towards Gurjaani. After about 20 kilometers, exit towards Lemshveniera and follow local signs to Natlismtsemeli Monastery. Parking is available near the monastery gates. Note that the road to the monastery may require a reliable off-road vehicle. There are no tolls.
