Car
If you're driving from Mtskheta, head east on the E117 highway. Follow the signs for Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the Jvari Pass. The pass is located at the coordinates 42.5050812, 44.4541286. There are several scenic viewpoints along the way where you can stop for photos.
Public Transportation
To reach Jvari Pass using public transportation, start by taking a marshrutka (minibus) from Mtskheta to Stepantsminda. Marshrutkas leave from the central bus station in Mtskheta and run regularly throughout the day. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, and the fare is approximately 10 GEL. Once you arrive in Stepantsminda, you can either hike to Jvari Pass, which is about a 4-5 hour trek, or hire a local taxi to take you directly to the pass. Taxis may cost around 30-50 GEL for the round trip.
