From Mtskheta, head south on the A404 road towards Aspindza. Continue on the A404 for about 60 km (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes). Follow the signs to Vardzia and Khertvisi Fortress. As you approach the fortress, you will see it perched atop a cliff. There is parking available near the entrance.

Public Transportation
Take a marshrutka (minibus) from Mtskheta to Aspindza. Marshrutkas leave from the central bus station in Mtskheta. The journey to Aspindza takes about 1 hour and costs around 5 GEL. Once in Aspindza, you can either take a taxi to Khertvisi Fortress (approximately 10 minutes drive) or walk the remaining 3 km (about 45 minutes on foot). Taxis should cost around 10 GEL.
