From Mtskheta, head north on the E117 road towards the town of Kazbegi. Continue for approximately 38 km until you reach the village of Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). Once in Stepantsminda, follow the signs to the Mkinvartsveri trailhead. The drive takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. There is no toll on this route.

From Mtskheta, take a marshrutka (minibus) to Tbilisi. Once in Tbilisi, transfer to a marshrutka heading to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). This journey will take around 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Upon arriving in Stepantsminda, you can either hike to Mkinvartsveri or hire a local guide with a 4x4 vehicle for approximately 50-100 GEL (Georgian Lari) to take you to the base of the mountain.

If you choose to hike from Stepantsminda, start at the village center and follow the marked trail towards Mkinvartsveri. The hike is approximately 10 km and takes about 3-4 hours. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear, and carry water and snacks for the journey.
