The 22-meter waterfall is accessible via a path that starts near the iconic domed roofs of the sulfur baths. The Leghvtakhevi gorge, through which the Tsavkisistskali River flows, was once filled with fig trees, hence the name Leghvtakhevi, with 'leghvi' meaning 'fig' in Georgian.
The area has a rich history, having been known by various names, including Tsavkisiskhevi, Sololakiskhevi, and Dabakhana. In the 19th century, the Tbilisi Botanical Garden was established nearby. In 2012, the area underwent a renovation that improved accessibility. Today, visitors can stroll along well-maintained paths, cross charming bridges, and relax on benches while enjoying views of traditional Georgian houses perched above the gorge.
