If driving, start from Ambrolauri and head south on the E117 highway towards Oni. After approximately 20 kilometers, turn left onto the road leading to Orbeli. Follow the signs towards Orbeli; the road may be unpaved and rough, so drive cautiously. After about 15 kilometers, you will reach Orbeli Fortress. Parking is available near the fortress.

Public Transport
To reach Orbeli Fortress via public transport, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Ambrolauri to Oni. These depart from the central bus station in Ambrolauri. Once in Oni, hire a taxi to reach the fortress, as public transport does not go directly there. The taxi ride should take about 30 minutes and cost approximately 15-20 GEL. Confirm the fare before starting your ride.

Adventurous visitors can hike from Oni to Orbeli Fortress via hiking trails. This is recommended for experienced hikers only. The trek takes around 2-3 hours, so bring a physical map or GPS device, water, and food. Wear appropriate hiking gear. There are no fees for hiking.
