Follow the signs towards Orbeli; the road may be unpaved and rough, so drive cautiously. After about 15 kilometers, you will reach Orbeli Fortress. Parking is available near the fortress.

    To reach Orbeli Fortress via public transport, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Ambrolauri to Oni. These depart from the central bus station in Ambrolauri. Once in Oni, hire a taxi to reach the fortress, as public transport does not go directly there. The taxi ride should take about 30 minutes and cost approximately 15-20 GEL. Confirm the fare before starting your ride.

It is believed to have had three towers, with the main tower facing north and containing living quarters. Exploring the site, visitors can discover a graveyard and the ruins of a church, with traces of a tomb also found through archaeological digs. Artifacts discovered at the site, including an ancient sculpture of the crucifixion, an icon of an archangel, and the Orbeli Fortress Church Gospel, are now preserved in the Kutaisi State Historical Museum. Though uninhabited today, the fortress retains traces of paintings, archaeological findings, and relics that tell of its past significance.
