If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Mestia. Drive south on the S3 road for about 26 km until you reach the village of Zhabeshi. From Zhabeshi, take the unpaved road heading towards Ushguli, which is approximately 18 km away. The road can be rough and may require a 4x4 vehicle depending on the weather conditions. Follow the signs for Ushguli, and eventually, you will arrive at the Ushguli Museum located in the village of Ushguli.

Public Transportation
To reach Ushguli using public transportation, start by taking a marshrutka (minibus) from Mestia to the village of Zhabeshi. Marshrutkas run regularly, and the fare is about 10 GEL. From Zhabeshi, you can either hire a local taxi to take you the remaining 18 km to Ushguli or, if you’re adventurous, you can hike the distance. The taxi fare should be negotiated beforehand, typically costing around 50 GEL. Once you arrive in Ushguli, follow the signs to the Ushguli Museum.

For those who enjoy hiking, you can start your journey from the village of Zhabeshi. The hike to Ushguli is roughly 18 km and takes about 4-6 hours depending on your pace. Follow the footpaths that lead you through the beautiful landscapes of Svaneti. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and enough water. Once you reach Ushguli, the Ushguli Museum will be easily accessible within the village.
