Getting there

Car

If you are driving to Gori Fortress, you can use the main highway M4, which runs through Shida Kartli. From Tbilisi, take the M4 and head west for about 90 km. Once you reach Gori, follow the signs to the city center. Gori Fortress is located at 10 Besarion Jughashvili St, Gori. You can park in nearby public parking areas once you arrive in the city.

Public Transportation (Minibus)

You can take a minibus (marshrutka) from Tbilisi to Gori. Minibuses leave frequently from the Didube bus station in Tbilisi. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around 5 GEL. Once you arrive at the Gori bus station, it's a short walk to Gori Fortress. Head southwest on Aghmashenebeli St, then take a left on Besarion Jughashvili St, and you will reach the fortress in about 10 minutes.

Public Transportation (Train)

Trains from Tbilisi to Gori run several times a day from the Tbilisi Central Railway Station. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs around 4 GEL. Once you arrive at Gori railway station, you can either walk to Gori Fortress (approximately 20-25 minutes) or take a taxi for a small fee. To walk, head north on Kote Abkhazi St and follow the signs to the fortress.
