Car
If you are driving from Mestia, take the road heading southeast towards the village of Juta. The journey will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on road conditions. Once in Juta, continue on the same road heading toward the Chaukhi Pass. The last stretch is a rough gravel road that leads to the foot of the pass, so be prepared for some off-road driving. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for such conditions. Parking may be available at the trailhead.

From Mestia, take a local minibus (marshrutka) heading to Juta. This service operates regularly and costs around 10 GEL per person. The journey takes approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival in Juta, you can either hike to Chaukhi Pass or arrange for a local taxi to take you closer to the trailhead for about 20-30 GEL. Be sure to negotiate the fare beforehand.

If you choose to hike from Juta to Chaukhi Pass, the trek will take approximately 4-5 hours one way.
