Car
If you are driving, start from the town of Omalo in Tusheti. Take the road leading south towards the village of Dartlo. After about 25 kilometers, you'll reach a fork in the road; keep to the right. Continue driving for approximately 14 kilometers, passing through the villages of Chagma and Khevsureti. The road will become progressively rougher, so drive cautiously. After another 5 kilometers, look for signs directing you to Abudelauri Lakes. The last part involves a dirt track, which may require a high-clearance vehicle. Park your car at the designated parking area and hike the remaining 1.5 kilometers to reach the White Lake.
Public Transportation
Take a marshrutka (minibus) from Tbilisi to Omalo, which will cost around 15-20 GEL. The journey takes about 6-8 hours, depending on road conditions. Once in Omalo, hire a local 4x4 taxi to take you to Abudelauri White Lake. The taxi ride typically costs around 80-100 GEL, and the journey will take about 1.5 hours. Arrangements can be made through local guesthouses in Omalo, where they can also provide information on guided tours to Abudelauri Lakes.
Hiking
If you prefer to hike, you can start from Omalo and follow the hiking trail that leads to Abudelauri Lakes. The hike covers about 10 kilometers and will take approximately 4-5 hours. The trail is well-marked but can be challenging, so ensure you have proper hiking gear and plenty of water. This route offers stunning views of the Tusheti landscape.
