Getting There

  • Metro

    If you are near the Rustaveli Metro Station, take the metro towards Akhmeteli Theatre. Alight at the Avlabari Metro Station. From there, exit the station and head towards the direction of the Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba). You can walk for about 15-20 minutes downhill, following the signs to the Funicular.

    From the Liberty Square stop, take bus number 70 towards the Funicular. The bus will take you directly to the lower station of the Tbilisi Funicular. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive, just follow the signs to the Funicular entrance.

    If you are in Old Tbilisi, the Funicular (Lower Station) is about a 20-30 minute walk. Start from the Rike Park area and head towards the Peace Bridge.
