Getting There

  • Cable Car

    Take the cable car from Vake Park on Chavchavadze Avenue. The lower station is easily accessible by bus or taxi from the city center. The cable car operates from 8:00 to 22:00 daily. A one-way trip takes about 6 minutes and costs 1 GEL. You can use a Tbilisi travel card or pay in cash.

  • Bus

    Take bus #59 from Rustaveli Metro Station to the Vake district and get off at the last stop. From there, you can hike up to the lake (approximately 30 minutes) or take a taxi for around 3 GEL. Alternatively, take the subway to Rustaveli station, walk to the Academy of Sciences, and then take bus #301 to Chavchavadze Avenue #54. From there you can walk to the cable car or take another bus.

    Taxis are readily available throughout Tbilisi. A taxi ride from the city center to Turtle Lake typically costs between 20-25 GEL and takes approximately 11 minutes. Consider using ride-hailing apps like Bolt or inDrive for potentially lower fares.
