From Vardzia, head northeast on the E117 road towards Akhaltsikhe. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers (approximately 25 minutes). Look for signage indicating Uplistsikhe. Take the exit towards Uplistsikhe Complex Road and follow the road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Uplistsikhe. There is a parking area available at the site.

To reach Uplistsikhe via public transport, start at the Vardzia bus station. Take a minibus (marshrutka) heading to Akhaltsikhe. The fare is usually around 2-3 GEL (Georgian Lari). After approximately 20 minutes, ask the driver to drop you off at the Uplistsikhe Complex Road stop. From there, it is about a 5-kilometer walk to the entrance of Uplistsikhe. Make sure to check the marshrutka schedule, as they may not run frequently.
