From Vardzia, get onto the main road (E117) heading southeast. Follow the signs for Khertvisi. After approximately 10 kilometers, look for a small sign indicating Vanis Kvabebi. Turn left onto the side road, and continue for about 2 kilometers. You'll see the entrance to Vanis Kvabebi on your right. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any local parking regulations.
Public Transportation
Catch a marshrutka (minibus) from Vardzia to Khertvisi. These usually depart from the central bus stop in Vardzia. The fare is around 2 GEL. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Khertvisi, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers towards Vanis Kvabebi. Follow the main road, and look for directional signs. Be aware that marshrutkas may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Vardzia to Vanis Kvabebi, it's about a 12-kilometer trek. Start by heading southeast on the E117 road. The path is mostly flat but can be dusty and exposed to the sun, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water. It should take around 2.5 to 3 hours to reach your destination.
