Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head towards Bayerisch Eisenstein. From the center of Bavarian Forest National Park, follow signs to the B11 road. Continue on B11 until you reach the junction to the B85. Turn onto the B85 and follow the signs to Bayerisch Eisenstein. Once in Bayerisch Eisenstein, follow the signs to Talstation Großer Arber. There is parking available near the cable car station, but please be aware that parking may incur a fee.

    If you prefer using public transportation, take a bus to the Bayerisch Eisenstein bus station. You can catch a bus from major towns in the national park, such as Zwiesel or Grafenau. Once you arrive at Bayerisch Eisenstein, look for the signs directing you to the Talstation Großer Arber (approximately a 15-minute walk). Alternatively, if you prefer to take the train, you can take a train to the Bayerisch Eisenstein train station, which is located about 1 km from the cable car station.
