Discover more about Tresor Berlin I Club & label

Tresor is more than just a nightclub; it's a living monument to Berlin's techno history. Founded in the aftermath of the Berlin Wall's fall, Tresor (German for 'safe') quickly became a sanctuary for electronic music lovers, uniting East and West Berliners through a shared passion for pulsating beats. Originally located in the vaults of the Wertheim department store, the club's raw, industrial aesthetic perfectly mirrored the city's post-reunification atmosphere. The club's history traces back to 1988 with the opening of Ufo Club, the original center for Berlin house and techno music. When Ufo Club closed in 1990, Dimitri Hegemann, along with investors, discovered the vaults that would become Tresor. The timing was perfect, as it was only months before Germany unified. The vaults became the ideal location for a club, and Tresor quickly became the place to be in Berlin. In 2007, Tresor relocated to a former combined heat and power plant, Heizkraftwerk Berlin-Mitte, on Köpenicker Straße, enhancing its industrial vibe. The new location features multiple dance floors, including the original Tresor room for hard techno, industrial, and acid music, and Globus, for house music. The club also has an outdoor area. Tresor is known for its strict door policy and intense atmosphere, offering a unique and unforgettable experience for those who make it inside. The club uses a token system for purchasing drinks at the bar. Today, the club is also used for immersive art exhibitions and performances.
