From Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take Tram 91 or 92 towards 'Potsdam, Kirschallee' or 'Potsdam, Campus Jungfernsee' respectively. Get off at the 'Potsdam, Alter Markt/Landtag' stop. From there, walk east along Alter Markt, then turn right onto Am Neuen Markt. The square will be on your left. A single tram ticket costs approximately €2.50.

If you are near the Alter Markt (Old Market), walk north. Pass the Potsdam Museum on your right and continue straight. Turn right onto Am Neuen Markt. The square will be on your left within a few minutes.
