From Blankenheim-Wald train station, take bus line 832 towards Blankenheim. This bus operates as a 'taxi bus' on weekends and certain weekday times, requiring a call (at least 30 minutes prior) to 01806 / 15 15 15 to ensure service. The bus will take you to Blankenheim bus station. From there, follow signs towards the town center and the Eifel Museum, which is a good starting point for exploring the forest. Bus fare is approximately €3-5. Alternatively, a taxi from the train station to Blankenheim town center will cost around €15-€20.

From the A1 motorway, take the Blankenheim exit. Follow the B51 towards Dahlem/Trier/Stadtkyll. Then, turn onto the B258 towards Blankenheim. As you approach Blankenheim, follow signs to parking areas in the town center. Parking is available at the Schwanenweiher (Swan Pond) and near the castle, but can be limited during peak season. Parking fees range from €1-2 per hour, with a daily maximum of €5-8. From the town center, various hiking trails into the forest are easily accessible.
